[i want] to write some songs that mean so much to people… and sound so beautiful that people want to fall apart and sleep forever.

Well you’re my favorite bird and when you sing
I really do wish that you’d wear my ring
No matter what they say, I am still the king
Now the storm is coming, the storm is coming in…

Jesse Lacey on Soco Amaretto Lime
- Interviewer: The last track on your new CD .. holds more meaning to me then possibly any song ever written -- it truly is classic (especially with my going off to college, leaving my GF and friends behind) -- can you tell me the story behind it?
- Jesse Lacey: Yeah, I originally wrote that song for my friend Peter. He's one of the only kids who really recognizes the way we, as well as all our friends, have changed in the last couple years. It's something we used to sit up and talk about all night. But also, about the time I was writing it I had just started seeing my girlfriend. And as it turned out I remember a lot of people giving her a lot shit for wanting to be with me. But it was only cause they were being spiteful, and old, and envious. Cause they are just boring people. That's where the last lines in the song came from. Those are my favorite.
